Please write a summary of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. Please include the answers to the following questions.
1. Where was Mr. Arable going with the ax?
2. Why did Fern think her father should not kill the runt?
3. What did Mr. Arable decide to do with the runt?
4. What did Fern use to feed the pig?
5. How did Fern know that Wilbur would not get cold outside?
6. What is a spring pig?
7. At what age did Mr. Arable say that Wilbur must be
In the first chapter, Mr.Arable took an ax with him to the hog house because a litter of pigs had been born and he was going to kill the runt. Fern thought her father should not kill the runt because she thought it was unjust. Mr. arable decided to give Fern the pig because Fern was right about not killing the pig. Fern used a bottle with a nipple to feed Wilber because he was so tiny.
In the third chapter the barn looks like the kind of barn kids like to play in because it's messy and old. On the main floor there are cows and horses. Mr. Zuckerman put Wilber in the cellar of the barn because it would be more comfterble in the manure pile. Wilber didn't have any fun because he never got any swims or walks.
